Bieber Headlines Coachella 2026 With Kid Laroi, Surprise Guests

Justin Bieber just delivered one of the most talked-about Coachella sets in recent memory. The pop star headlined Saturday night at the festival on April 12, closing out the evening with a stacked performance that included surprise appearances from Kid Laroi — who joined him for their massive hit 'Stay' — and singer-songwriter Dijon.
It was a full-circle moment for Bieber, who hadn't performed a U.S. concert in four years before warming up with an invite-only, no-phones show at the Roxy in Los Angeles roughly a week before the festival. That intimate Roxy set featured material from his double albums 'Swag' and 'Swag II', both of which have been praised for their raw honesty about Bieber's personal life. Back in October, he'd gone live on Twitch to tease the headlining slot, telling fans he was locked in on preparation.
"I'm putting on a hell of a show for you guys for Coachella, getting ready, and getting inspired," Bieber told Rolling Stone ahead of the performance.
The weekend wasn't short on other surprises either. On Friday night, rising artist Sombr brought out Billy Corgan at the Outdoor Theatre for a duet on Smashing Pumpkins' '1979' — a track that's been blowing up on TikTok and Instagram with Gen-Z listeners. It marked Corgan's first-ever appearance at Coachella, a genuinely wild stat for someone who's been a rock institution for over three decades. Sombr also used his sunset slot to debut an unreleased track called 'Potential', adding even more buzz to an already loaded set.
“He's very giving and he wants to offer everything that he has to help me," Kid Laroi told Rolling Stone.”
The Corgan collaboration speaks to a broader thread running through this year's festival: unexpected pairings that cut across generations and genres. Bieber pulling Dijon onto one of the biggest stages in live music fits that same energy.
As for what drove Kid Laroi's appearance, the connection between the two clearly runs deep. "He's just a really special human being. He has no ego when it comes to supporting me. Not everyone's like him. He's very giving and he wants to offer everything that he has to help me," Kid Laroi told Rolling Stone.
With 'Swag' and 'Swag II' still in rotation and a Coachella headline now under his belt, the question shifts to what Bieber does next — a full tour seems like the logical move, and after a four-year absence from U.S. stages, the demand is clearly there. Weekend 2 hits this Friday, and all eyes will be on whether he switches up the setlist or saves even bigger surprises for round two.
