Rock Hall 2026: Oasis, Wu-Tang, Iron Maiden Lead Stacked Class

Six British acts in one Rock & Roll Hall of Fame class. That's never happened before, and it just did.
The Rock Hall revealed its 2026 Performer inductees across a two-night American Idol special hosted by Ryan Seacrest and Lionel Richie on April 13-14: Oasis, Iron Maiden, Joy Division/New Order, Phil Collins, Sade, Billy Idol, Wu-Tang Clan, and Luther Vandross. The induction ceremony is set for November 14 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, airing on ABC and Disney+ after the live event.
The Oasis induction carries the most narrative weight. The band was nominated and passed over in both 2024 and 2025 — and Liam Gallagher wasn't exactly diplomatic about it the first time around, calling the whole institution a "load of bollocks." Two years and a massive reunion tour later, his tone has shifted considerably. "Well I was speaking to my mummy last night when the news broke and she thinks I may have been a little hasty with my perception of the organization she's told me to stop being a dick and go to the awards and behave and you never know you might enjoy it," he wrote, as reported by Billboard. Both Gallagher brothers have confirmed they'll attend the ceremony.
Billy Idol also confirmed he'll be there, and got visibly emotional breaking the news to longtime guitarist Steve Stevens. "To be recognized by your peers is incredible. You don't really know what people think about you, but this gives you an indication," he told Rolling Stone.

Beyond the Performer category, the Early Influence Awards go to Queen Latifah, Gram Parsons, Celia Cruz, Fela Kuti, and MC Lyte. The Parsons recognition lands with poetic timing — this is the year he would have turned 80, decades after dying at just 26 in 1973. "There's so many little nuances that indicate such a perfect moment for this, and I'm really, really grateful," a source close to the honor told Rolling Stone.
Rick Rubin, Jimmy Miller, Arif Mardin, and Linda Creed pick up the Musical Excellence Award, while Ed Sullivan receives the Ahmet Ertegun Award posthumously.
With Wu-Tang repping East Coast hip-hop and Iron Maiden flying the flag for metal, this is one of the more genre-diverse classes in recent memory. All eyes now turn to November — and whether both Gallaghers can make it through a ceremony without incident.
